The Abonilox
When it began, the purpose of the site was to create a collaborative environment for the expressed purpose of creating a synthetic belief system. The effort was guided both by artistic inclinations and a sincere desire to construct a religious infrastructure upon which any future speculative metaphysics might be built (or vice versa). In the mind of its author, the ideal synthesis of art and philosophy is religion. Whether this is actually true or not is debatable. Nevertheless, the inherent irony that obtains as one publicly and openly discusses revelation, prophecy and self-determined ethics is amusing (to the author, at least).
As it stands now, there is but one author of this blog. That author chooses to remain anonymous and has appropriated the name of The Abonilox (The Name Above All Names!).
The Abonilox, the real Abonilox remains hidden within the thing-in-itself. Perhaps as chance and time grind down the material within which we persist, he will be revealed. In the meantime, the author humbly expresses his thoughts upon the peculiar phenomenon of being human at this time and place.

Allegory of the vessel. Luck determines one’s position on the vessel. The vessel is always in motion and rocks and pitches this way and that while it plods forward at a regular speed. Those in the belly of vessel feel little movement. They are too far removed from the secondary motion of the vessel. Those closer to the edge of the vessel sense the secondary motion and are affected by it to a greater or lesser degree depending on their proximity to the edge of the vessel.
The allegory represents the impact of tyche on both the position of one’s birth (the position in the vessel) and the effect of chance as life moves forward. Luck determines where you are in the boat. It also determines if you get tossed over or if you get a chance to move closer to the middle. Order holds the boat together and propels it forward.
